‘RHOBH’ Star Erika Jayne’s Son Takes the Stand in A$AP Rocky Assault Trial

Erika Jayne’s son, Thomas “Tommy” Zizzo Jr., has been thrust into the spotlight as one of the first witnesses to testify in the ongoing assault trial of rapper A$AP Rocky. Zizzo, who serves as a member of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), was called to the stand as part of the prosecution’s case regarding a shooting incident that occurred outside a hotel in 2021. Zizzo, the son of Jayne’s first husband, Thomas Zizzo Sr., provided important details about what he observed when he arrived at the scene of the alleged shooting.

While his mother is a well-known star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Tommy Zizzo Jr. has largely kept his life out of the public eye. He has never appeared on the show, preferring to maintain a low profile despite his mother’s high-profile reality TV career. In a 2020 interview with Andy Cohen, Jayne explained her son’s decision to stay out of the spotlight, emphasizing that Tommy did not choose the public life she leads. “I don’t care if he’s an adult and he carries a gun and a badge. At the end of the day, he’s still my boy. He’s a very fine young man, and I’m super proud,” she said, making it clear that her son’s privacy and safety are paramount to her.

The trial stems from an alleged incident where A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is accused of firing a gun at his former friend, A$AP Relli, during a confrontation in 2021. The altercation reportedly took place in Los Angeles, and it has since led to Mayers being charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Prosecutors allege that the rapper fired the weapon during an argument, putting his former friend in danger.

A$AP Rocky’s legal team has rejected a plea deal that was offered earlier in the case. The deal would have required him to plead guilty to the felony charge of assault with a firearm, accept a 180-day jail sentence, serve three years of probation, and complete 500 hours of community service. However, sources close to the case revealed that accepting the plea deal would have had serious consequences for the rapper’s career, including the potential loss of lucrative endorsement deals with major brands like Gucci and Puma. Additionally, the deal would have barred him from touring, effectively ending his music career.

As the trial continues, A$AP Rocky faces a maximum of 24 years in prison if convicted on the charges. He has pleaded not guilty to all allegations, maintaining that he did not fire the weapon during the altercation. The case has drawn significant attention not only due to the high-profile nature of the individuals involved but also because of the potential implications it may have on the rapper’s career. As of now, the legal proceedings are ongoing, with several more witnesses expected to testify in the coming weeks.
